Railblaza, the New Zealand-based mounting systems and accessories manufacturer, has named Prime Marine as its exclusive distributor for Poland.

Prime Marine has experienced rapid business growth since it was founded in 2022, now serving as an exclusive distributor for well-known brands such as Lowrance, Simrad, JL Audio and Torqeedo.

“Following several meetings with Prime Marine during METS 2023, and a visit to their operation in Warsaw in December, it was evident that Prime were the perfect partner to enhance Railblaza’s presence in Poland,” says EMEA sales director Nick Edgington, citing the company’s professionalism, enthusiasm and success with other brands as key factors in the decision.

“Our vast range of mounting solutions for chartplotters, fishfinders and transducers will provide excellent sales potential for Prime Marine,” he adds.

Railblaza makes mounting systems for a diverse range of applications, whether on land or water. Based in Auckland, New Zealand, with an office in Houston, Texas and representation in Europe, the company exports to over 50 countries.

“Railblaza products have a strong reputation throughout Europe, and I see good opportunities within our domestic marine and fishing market through OEMs, retailers, and installers,” says Prime Marine owner Michal Semeniuk.

Prime Marine will launch Railblaza at next month’s Rybomania, the largest fishing event in Europe, from March 1-3, 2024.

An Adventure 350 RIB aimed at the fishing market was displayed at the 2023 Southampton Boat Show, housing an array of Railblaza rod holders. However, the mounting system could just as easily have been utilised for any of the Railblaza accessories such as holders for phones, lights, Go-Pro cameras, cups, biminis and more.

Prior to joining RAILBLAZA, Nick Edgington held prominent roles within the marine industry. His tenure involved managing the sales team, implementing effective sales strategies, and achieving challenging targets. Nick’s experience also includes Managing Director at Edge-Water Marine Ltd, the UK distributor for Legend Yachts & Sasga Yachts, Sales & Business Director at Piranha Ribs Ltd, where he successfully established and marketed the new brand onto the international market. Additionally, as Brokerage Manager at Sparkes Marine Agency, he further displayed his aptitude for strategic sales management. He kept things interesting by hopping in the lake to land a bass during the final hour of competition. DeFoe ended the Championship Round with a total of 73 pounds, 14 ounces, more than 25 pounds over second-place Bobby Lane.

This is DeFoe’s third Bass Pro Tour win, and fourth MLF win. In 2020, he won Stage Three on Lake Fork and Lake Palestine. He started 2021 with a Stage One win on Sam Rayburn before winning the 2021 Stage Three. DeFoe recently won the 2021 Heritage Cup in Waco, Texas, which is an event that was “shot in the dark” in October 2020 and edited for television.

Horizon aluminium boats have been going for 27 years now it is a family-owned business.  We acquired Stessl boats in 2016 expanding our stable. Aluminium boat building is a really dynamic form of boat building innovation is our catch cry, we’re constantly looking for ways to improve boats and to make them more user-friendly.  

We are really pleased to have been able to work with RAILBLAZA in New Zealand to develop a new TracLoader system which is going to be fitted standard to all the boats. The advantage of this system is tool-free anybody can do it and changes can be made continually to it.

Tool-Free Solution To Fitting Out Your Boat

In the factory, we build production boats and we try and accommodate everything that the customer is looking for but when somebody gets their boat they have a particular need they want to put a rod holder in a certain place a fillet table etc and that’s always difficult in a production company without having to drill holes or pre-think it. Sometimes you can only decide on that when you get the boat and you see how you’re going to use it.

This system that we’ve developed with RAILBLAZA will enable you to clip fittings in and move them to wherever you want on the boat. The TracLoader system has been used successfully in boats in America and we’re pleased to be first to market with it in Australia.

Right now we have orders going right out to next year and we’re currently fitting all of this track extrusion so that all boats going out into the factory will be ready for RAILBLAZA fittings. As part of this arrangement, we will be working with all of our dealerships and a full range of accessories designed for different applications will be available through the network.

How long does it take to make an aluminium boat?

On average from the start of the process to out of the door is about a 6-week process, that varies obviously with the size of the boats, if we have a lot of big boats going through the factory its a slightly slower process. If we have a lot of small unpainted boats they go through a lot quicker, but all up it is about a six-week turnaround from a raw bit of aluminium to delivery out of the door.

We use all modern machinery, but every single boat is hand-built for the most part, the dimensions are fractionally different so no two boats are identical. Every single staff member has a part in building that boat from when it comes in as a coil of aluminium (in the press boat range) and from that coil it goes on to a CNC router it goes through a tacking jig, it goes through to hull welding, into a builder, into paint prep, through to paint & into fit-out and then it’s fitted out and off to a dealership for motor and other bits and pieces.

We have 30 staff here and they’re all passionate about it, it is a great dynamic industry we get to modify adapt innovate create something that we’re all immensely proud of.
